And... we have other sailing families to party with us! Happy Birthday to our dearest little pirate! We don't know how and when, but it has happened! 4 year old Julian and 40 000 nautical miles! So many days at Sea, adventures, emotions, tears, smiles, sleepless nights. We can't imagine our lives without little Julian. This amazing journey tastes so much better with him. Ania and Bartek. We are a Polish family (Ania, Bartek, Kuba and Julian) travelling the world and sailing across oceans on our floating home, a 15 meter trimaran, as a way of promoting alternative way of life off the grid. In 2014 we managed to materialize our dreams and traded a land based home in Poland for a permanent life on the ocean aboard our dearest new home - sailboat "Poly". For us sailing is a way of free life in sync and harmony with nature and each other. It's a way of experiencing life, people, and places, entirely on our own terms. For many years it was just a dream, but we followed it and it came true. We are here and now, no longer chasing the dream. We'd like to share it with you so that you can follow your dreams, too. The period of pandemic has shown us among other things, how little we really need and how difficult it is to see what is important to all of us on a daily basis, including the overwhelming mass of information and stimuli from the civilizational surroundings. We are chasing something, a goal that is often not even ours, we buy things that are supposed to make us happy. When we get them, it suddenly turns out that new dreams have appeared along the way. This pursuit of happiness has no end. This race is not over. There is no satisfaction, no relief. There is no moment of peace in which we would give ourselves a chance to find what we are chasing, the happiness within ourselves. No pursuit required. Quite the opposite. Shocking? Exactly 5 years ago we changed our lives. We have traded land life for sea life. Why did we do it? Many considered us a bit insane. How is that? On the water? What about these little kids? What about school? What about medical care? What about a million other things that civilization offers us. Nevertheless, we took responsibility for it all, for ourselves, and went our truly own way. We didnt want to wait until retirement with our plans. We felt that this way of life would be the best for us to live on our own terms, close to nature and each other. Children were a special motivation for us. There were difficult times, but there was never any hesitation or doubt in the course we are on. We get so many wonderful messages from you. Thank you for all your support. The system doesnt like us. Because our children do not wear t-shirts in our vlogs, and we use incorrect words such as freedom, awareness, sexuality, etc ... We will, however, talk about it openly and loudly regardless of what the corporate policy think about it. Let us all support each other so that we live consciously and be truly aware. Lets not let someone or something decide for us what we should and should not. Few days ago we published a movie on our blog about our situation in the Caribbean and Saint Lucia, where we are at the moment. As we said in the movie, the situation on many Caribbean Islands has been changing from day to day and so it happened here, in Saint Lucia. On April 1st, a 24-hour curfew was introduced until April 8th. At one moment the island was practically closed (including shops). For us, this means, that we are not allowed to go to the shore. The next day, two dates were introduced for small grocery stores to be open, but only for few hours. Despite everything, the situation looks quite calm here. The Prime Minister calls on citizens to cooperate and set aside any political and other differences. We are anchored in Rodney Bay in the vicinity of about 30 other sailboats and as we are usually provisioned for longer (i.e. several weeks) we have something to eat and restrictions are not painful for us. And ... how are we are dealing now on one surface ? This is different story ... On its way. We wish you much health, love and peace until the world returns to its new form. Since then we have been exploring East coast of Martinique. We wanted to do that for many years, but it was always the weather or schedule that kept us away from there. So finally we are making small jumps between the small island and numerous, pretty bays. Now for some time we have been anchored close to Francois - probably the largest town on the East coast. Home to an excellent fish market and good place for provisioning the boat. We also spend time exploring the local nature. Today we climb probably steepest mountain in Martinique that has an official hiking trail set up along with the ropes and anchors on the rocks. There are also numerous paths with anchors in the rock wall for the serious rock climbers. Well take the hiking trail through the tropical forest with kids. As it turns out its challenging enough.
