The Famous Passengers of M/S BATORY... There was always many artists and celebrities traveling onboard Polish ocean liners M/S BATORY and TS/S STEFAN BATORY. In most cases they sailed to USA & Canada for their concert-tours. Among them was also a singer VIOLETTA VILLAS... Villas was always very extravagant and controversial about her costumes, make up and a live style that have never fit well with the communism reality of Poland in 1960s.
She was the only Polish artist who was able to make a true artistic career splash in Las Vegas. During two seasons of 1966-1968, she was a star of the big musical-show Casino de Paris at the Dunes Hotel & Casino (currently, its ocation of the Bellagio Hotel & Casino)... Villas sang in duets with Frank Sinatra, Paul Anka, Barbara Streisand, Charles Aznavour, Sammy Davis Jr, Eartha Kitt and Dean Martin... The above Video shows Villas in her very special interpretation of the international hit, Strangers in the Night. Its a clip of the TV show taped in 1970...
