TEENAGERS have trashed a luxury hotel room, smashing lights with an orange traffic cone and running through doors in Sydney.

In a shocking series of videos, believed to be taken on Snapchat, the out-of-control youths can be seen destroying the four and a half starred Meriton Zetland apartments in the New South Wales capital.

Another part of the video show a young man taking off his jumper before running into a door, smashing through it.

His friends can be heard to be cheering him on as he sits slightly dazed after crashing through the door.

The unnamed group are understood to have paid AUD$1500 bond (about £880) for the apartments but seem unconcerned about the potential of having to pay even more to cover the damage.

The footage, released by 7 News, also showed one of the men surveying the damage, with the teen heard to say: "Yep, windows smashed."

Rooms at the luxury apartments cost about £325 a night for a two-bedroom.

A spokesman for the Meriton confirmed the incident, saying the company was investigating and had contacted police.
