This is the moment a disabled, three-legged dog is abandoned by a woman just hours before it is returned to the family – with her husband then reportedly dumping it in the street a second time.
The poor animal , said to be named Tintin, has one of its front legs missing and has a disability on its other front leg.
In a harrowing CCTV footage, Tintin was seen being cruelly dumped in the city of Sao Leopoldo in the southern Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul.
The video shows a white car parking by the side of the road before the female driver opens the back door and two dogs jump out wagging their tails.
One dog, which is dark-coloured, looks healthy, but the white dog can be seen to struggle to balance on its feet.
The cruel woman then points to the car to encourage the dark dog to jump back inside.
When the disabled dog – still wagging its tail – tries to follow its canine friend, the heartless woman appears to shove it hard in the chest, causing it to fall over.
The woman then gets back in the car and drives off, leaving the confused pooch to attempt to hobble off in the same direction.
Since the upsetting video was shared on Facebook, it has been viewed more than 220,000 times and received thousands of comments from angry dog-lovers.
According to local media, the dog was abandoned twice in the same day after it was returned to the family and the woman’s husband then took it to another spot where he left it alone hours later.
The three-legged dog has since been rescued and is currently in the care of the local animal protection services.
Local media reported that more than 30 people have offered to adopt the dog after the heartbreaking video was posted on social media and the news its plight spread.
Meanwhile, local authorities are reportedly investigating the animal’s abandonment.
This comes after a faithful dog waited in vain for its owner for three months in sub-zero temperatures after being dumped at the roadside.
