This is the hilarious moment a driver leaves in the morning - unaware that a pet cat was sitting on the car roof.

The motorist, Eva Reeta, 20, rushed out of the house to pick up her cousin to take him to school in Sarawak, Malaysia July 7 morning.

Eva was running late and already in a rush, so did not notice the family's cat, named Cimek, was napping on the roof soaking up the sun.

The driver said she drove for a few minutes and heard meows but was not aware that it was her cat, until many drivers tried to get her attention further down the road.

She said: 'I heard a cat sound but it was coming from outside, so I didn't think anything more of it.

Then the car behind me pulled up and opened the window to tell me what happened. 'So, I stopped the car by the side of the road and brought him straight down before driving home again.'

Eva said her 11-year-old cat, who was unhurt after the adventure, likes to sleep on the car roof but this was the first time she left home without noticing him.

She added: 'Cimek likes to sleep on top of my car and usuallywakes up at about 6am every day.

He will leave the car every time the engine is on. 'But I didn't know why this time he continued sitting there even though the car was moving.

'I was very surprised but also glad to see he was safe and not falling down while I was driving.'
