Alright, had I known that in Poland you get soooo much chocolate for donating blood I would have done this ages ago!

I’m kidding of course. It’s been a long time since my last blood donation. In the States I was a regular at my Red Cross center until a law came out banning anyone that spent more than 6 months in specific countries (Poland included) in the ’80s and ’90s for fear of the mad cow disease. So I was out from then on.

But I read in the paper today that there’s a shortage of blood in the local blood banks so I went in straight after work and did my part in donating 650ml of my O- blood type to anyone in need. Gonna make it a regular visit, up to 6 times a year.

I was seriously surprised when I saw the ‘gift’ at the end. The chocolate isn’t all that bad for being some off-brand type either.
