Mon, 21 Mar 2011 20:41:39 GMT — Area residents have rallied behind a southern Michigan mother whose three young sons were last seen on Thanksgiving with their now-jailed father.
A fundraising event and auction held Saturday in the Morenci High School gym brought in at least $30,000 to aid the search for 9-year-old Andrew, 7-year-old Alexander and 5-year-old Tanner Skelton.
Thirty-nine-year-old John Skelton is jailed on a multimillion-dollar bond on kidnapping and unlawful imprisonment charges in the boys' disappearance. A Lenawee County judge has scheduled his trial to start June 7.
Among the items sold was a hand-made quilt with a picture of the boys. The Detroit Free Press says it brought a $1,000 bid.
Tanya Skelton says it's "amazing" and "overwhelming" to see the support for her quest to learn what happened to her sons.
