A young couple may have live-streamed their own deaths after the car they were driving crashed on a country road.

The videos, posted to Periscope, show a man and a woman in their twenties listening to music and drinking for several hours.

The woman then films herself getting into the passenger seat of a car which appears to be driven by the same man.

She records her own face as they start driving and listening to music before a loud noise disrupts the live-stream and the camera jerks around violently before cutting out.

The Mail Online reported that police in Finland believe the video shows a car crash that killed two people. The wrecked vehicle was discovered on the morning of Friday, June 9 near Espoo, a city close to the capital Helsinki.

Finnish police believe the car was being driven at over twice the speed limit before the fatal crash.

Police found the wrecked car on Friday morning

Chief constable and head of communications for Espoo police district, Paavo Myöhänen, said: "We think that the victims are the ones appearing in the video. The car matches the one in the crash.

"We are awaiting test results to see if they were under the influence of anything.

"The car must have been driving at over 100kmh. The speed limit on the street is 50kmh since it is a small country road.

"Both victims died in the crash.

"We do not know the exact time when the crash happened yet or when they both died."

The video has now been removed from Periscope, but had been viewed over 130,000 times by Friday afternoon.
